Out of interest in city planning and computer modeling theory, he conceived of a game that would let players build cities and watch them function. The first SimCity was published in 1989. Since then, the SimCity series has paralleled and influenced the now omnipresent, if not always well-conceived use of computer simulation in a contemporary urban planning. ”
